I love talking about food in Eureka Springs because I’ve never had a bad meal no matter how many places I’ve visited. Heck, even the McDonald’s crew were delightful as we grabbed coffee before an early morning hike.
It was tough, but below are my choices. here are the 6 best places to eat in Eureka Springs, plus a few honorable mentions.
6 Best Places to Eat in Eureka Springs
1. Mud Street Cafe
Mud Street Cafe wins points for its unique location. The old-fashioned space is housed under ground, which makes for a fun experience. You can grab a hearty meal of breakfast or lunch and grab a few desserts for later.
I recommend: the sour-cream blueberry pancakes
2. Myrtie Mae's
Myrtie Mae’s is famously known for the “lip-smacking” fried chicken. I gotta say, they really deliver. The location may throw you off a bit (don’t let Google Maps fool you, it’s right inside the hotel) but the Southern comfort food is well worth the effort.
I recommend: Myrtie’s Famous Ozark Fried Chicken
3. Oscar's Cafe
If you’re in need of some lighter fare, I highly recommend Oscar’s Cafe. The adorable, quirky decor and fresh fruits and salads will help you recover from more hearty meals.
I recommend: A panini with the house coffee
4. Ermilio's Italian Home Cooking
This savory delight is a must-visit. Eermilio’s is open every night for dinner, and it pays to call ahead. It gets quite popular. Everything on the menu is worth a try, from the wine, appetizers, entrees and dessert.
I recommend: Stuffed mushrooms, chicken parmesean and the Italian wedding cake
5. Local Flavor Cafe
When the weather is nice, you can dine outside on Local Flavor’s patio and watch the action on Main Street. Would highly recommend. Whether you’re here for brunch or a relaxing dinner, you’re in for a treat.
I recommend: blueberry French toast bake
6. The Bavarian Inn
The cute and cozy Bavarian Inn also houses a restaurant serving German and Czech-inspired cuisine. It’s currently snowing outside as I write this, and nothing sounds better than a piping hot plate of goulash.
I recommend: Goulash Esterhazie
In addition to the best places to eat in Eureka Springs, the town also has a few other tasty gems. you won’t be able to grab a full meal here, but what they do have is worth a stop.
1. Karma Kups Tea House
This delightful little shop has every tea and coffee combination under the sun. The owner is an enthusiast and is more than happy to provide various recommendations based on your preferences.
2. Sweets Fudge Kitchen
Sweets is a less of a fudge kitchen and more of a candy factory. The walls are lined with buckets of the good stuff, and the campy, antique design makes for a fun time. In that moment, I was a literal kid in a candy store.
BREWS is a teeny bar and coffee shop who’s highlights include a good selection of craft beer and local music performances. Check out the event listings and sit down with a pint in an intimate venue for a night of lovely tunes.
