St. Moritz, Switzerland is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. Situated in the Engadin valley, its stunning beauty was the backdrop for two Olympic Games and countless winter sport competitions. It took my breath away from the moment I stepped off the train station.
One thing to note here is that, like any alpine resort town, stuff gets expensive fast. I didn’t even spend the night. Instead, I took a day trip from Milan via the Swiss Alps Bernina Express railway. There are a variety of ways to get to St. Moritz, but the tour operator I went with was fabulous. Give this day trip a look if you have an extra day in Milan.
This trip took place in late November, and it was surreal. The town was nearly empty. It was such a treat to walk through streets with almost no one there. Almost like I had the whole city to myself.
After exiting the train station, this is what awaited me…

I was limited on time and mostly stuck to walking through Via Serlas, the street with shops and restaurants.

There are multiple vantage points of those gorgeous mountains.

Had just enough time to grab a box of Swiss chocolate.

I left for Milan already planning a trip to Switzerland. Someday, I’ll return for more mountain views and chocolate.

Did these photos inspire you to plan a Switzerland trip? Can I tag along? Let’s discuss logistics in the comments!
